Waxing Crescent Moon

Waxing Crescent Moon at 42% luminance just a day shy of first quarter.

It has been a challenge to view sky objects due to a long stretch of wildfire smoke that has reached ground level. The sky at this blue hour should still be blue, not as dark as seen here. I was able to capture this striking red moon before it was engulfed by cloudy haze.
