The sky was dark, crystal clear, sprinkled with silver and the display of constellations was wonderful. The Twins, Auriga, Orion, Taurus, The Pleiades, Lepus. I wanted to show what the sky actually looked like, but conveying it in a picture is not easy. I tried a lot of different exposures. When I exposed for the foreground it detracted from the sky, when I exposed for the sky the foreground was jet black. So this is a composite, but I also kept the foreground low key because at a higher key it detracted from the stars. I guess I will be experimenting forever trying to find a combination that I really like .....
Nikon D750 with Nikon 10mm lens at f2.8 for 15 seconds ISO 2000
This is a composite of two images one exposed for the sky and one for the foreground.
