Goodbye Milky Way Core until Spring
On 10/02/2026 09:30 pm by Barney Koszalka | Website | Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
October means saying goodbye to the Milky Way Core until spring here in the North. Schwabacher Landing in Grand Teton National Park is known for west-facing images of the Tetons reflected in the still water of the beaver ponds. Many fail to look south, downstream from the beaver ponds. Fewer people still venture there at night to photograph under a Bortle 2 sky. The glow at the base of the MW is the Jackson airport, the only commercial airport inside a National Park.
