The Osprey
On 10/01/2026 10:05 am by Bill Kozar | Website | Farmland around Taylorsville, Indiana. USA
Saw this Osprey eating a fish near the top of a dead tree last week, and again sunning itself a few days ago in the same tree. I waited hoping it would take flight, looked away for a few seconds only to look back and see it had and I missed it. It first flew away from me then began circling, bringing it back closer to get some nice shots of it. Osprey numbers were way down from DDT, poaching and loss of breeding grounds in the 1950's, with one nest in 1990. Now making a comeback with over 100 nests in Indiana.
