Way of the World

I ventured out beneath the dark skies of Steinhatchee, Florida, hoping to capture the Perseids streaking directly through the core of the Milky Way. I watched meteor after meteor flash across the sky, but only one made its way directly through the Milky Way’s core during my time-lapse. With 285 frames to work with, I decided to create something different. I went with stacking them into a single star-trail image that transformed the night into a mesmerizing cascade of light and created an unexpected scene that almost looks as though hundreds of meteors are racing across the sky.
