Venus close to quarter phase

Captured at local noon the planet was first located with binoculars, it is easily seen after that with unaided vision, the steady 10x50s allow to resolve well the half-illuminated disc. Venus will reach maximum eastern elongation on august the 12th and then there will be a fast 10 weeks progression to inferior conjunction on october the 23rd.
