Bougainvillea plant near Altun Ha Mayan ruins

Bougainvillea plant seen while viewing Altun Ha Mayan ruins. The magenta part of this plant is actually a modified leaf called a bract. I thought they were petals when I first saw them. The true flowers are the small cream colored blossoms in the center.
