Butterfly Galaxies
On 04/24/2026 by William McLaughlin | Bradley, CA
NGC 4567 and 4568, also called the "Siamese Twins" or the "Butterfly Galaxies" are a pair of colliding spiral galaxies in Virgo. They are about 60 million light years distant. They are predicted to merge into a single elliptical galaxy in about 500 million years.
Taken from my remote observatory with 10 Hours and 10 minutes exposure time over 10 nights.
