A Sun Pillar from Cabras
On 02/24/2026 06:26 pm by Roberto Ortu | Website | Cabras, Sardinia, Italy
This photo shows the natural phenomenon of the Sun Pillar, a vertical column of light extending above or below our star, which is caused by the reflection of sunlight by small ice crystals suspended in Earth's atmosphere.
At the time of the shot, I was near the Cabras pond, a few kilometers away from the western coast of Sardinia.
