The Rosette Nebula, also known as Caldwell 49, is a large emission nebula located in the constellation Monoceros, approximately 5,200 light-years from Earth. It is part of a giant molecular cloud and is notable for its flower-like shape, which resembles a rose. The nebula is also referred to as the "Skull Nebula" due to its resemblance to a human skull in certain orientations.
