Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) Over the Step Pyramid of Djoser, Egypt

On 10/26/2025 07:00 pm by OSAMA FATHI | Saqqara, Egypt

Captured above Egypt’s oldest pyramid, the Step Pyramid of Djoser at Saqqara, this image shows Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) gliding across the ancient sky in a rare alignment of cosmic and human history. The greenish comet tail appears over the timeless limestone of Pharaoh Djoser’s pyramid — designed by the legendary architect and physician Imhotep nearly 4,700 years ago.

The scene combines 60 sky exposures, each 20 seconds long, stacked to enhance the faint details of the comet and surrounding stars, along with a short exposure for the archaeological foreground. The final composite required extensive processing to overcome Bortle 6 light pollution and to balance both celestial and terrestrial brightness.
