Clash of Wings: Fierce Beauty in Flight

(Sorry for I haven't submit this immediately for I got sick but here is my story for National Hummingbird Day)

At Ash Canyon Bird Sanctuary in Arizona, the air shimmered with tension as two hummingbird species met mid-flight. A Broad-tailed, wings glittering like sunlight on glass, found itself seized — the sharp beak of a Broad-billed piercing into its feathers and skin, tugging its head upward in a breathtaking show of survival. It was not a gentle meeting, but a raw glimpse into the struggles these tiny pollinators endure in the fight for territory and bloom.

On National Hummingbird Day, we pause to honor not only their beauty but their resilience. Every beat of their wings, every daring clash, ensures the pollination of flowers that weave life through deserts, mountains, and gardens. By planting native blossoms, preserving habitats, and protecting their fragile world, we stand as guardians of their iridescent legacy.
