This is a White-faced Ibis. They have amazingly beautiful iridescent feathers that just glow in the sunlight. In photos they appear to be large birds but range from 46-56cm and their weight is only 450-525gr. They breed in marshes, generally nesting in bushes or low trees. This Ibis was in a large wetland area across from the Pacific Ocean and hs been foraging in salt water flats. In the wild, which this one is, they live for approximately 9 years.
