Comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) captured from Saquarema

Comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) captured from Saquarema. Photos of Comet G3 (ATLAS) are still relatively rare because, despite being bright, it is still very close to the Sun and therefore deeply immersed in the evening twilight. With the sky 87% cloudy, I took more than 80 photos of the southwestern horizon over the sea and close to where the sun had set just 25 minutes earlier. In one of them, the comet could be seen. The photo was taken on Jan. 16, 2025 at 19:06. The comet was only 5° from the horizon and 12° away from the Sun. Its brightness was compatible with current estimates of mag=-1. The image (corresponding to a 40x magnification) is an enlarged crop of the original photo.
