Unusual Orion

On 09/15/2024 05:00 am by Jean-Baptiste Feldmann| Gleizé, France

The famous constellation Orion returns at the end of the night. The image was taken with a Nikon D7100, a 50 millimeter focal length lens and a 15 second exposure with a sensitivity of ISO 3200. By focusing on the foreground (a Celestron 6 XLT telescope), we obtain defocused stars. A process which allows us to better see their colors: the orange glow of the supergiant Betelgeuse, the azure of the blue giants of the baldric or even the pale pink of Messier 42, the Orion nebula.
