Mars and Jupiter Conjunction
On 08/15/2024 04:00 am by John Paul Pile| San Rafael, Bulacan, Philippines
On August 15, 2024 at 1:00 am (Philippines time) Mars and Jupiter reach their closest point to each other from Earth's perspective at about 0.3° apart they can be easily viewed at fairly high magnification. I captured it 3 hours after its closest approach, it was very high in the sky and I was lucky to have good seeing, very little turbulence which resulted in a decent image! such events are rare. Although it is blended image, I got almost what it would look like and size when viewed through the eyepiece!
