I had planned for months to take images of the eclipse from my backyard in Dallas, Texas, but then it turned out that on the 14th my granddaughter Harper was showing her rabbits at the livestock show at the State Fair of Texas. I obviously couldn't miss that so I set up my equipment to capture the eclipse sequence on automatic (I posted a shot here of the results from that the other day) and headed to Fair Park. As we had a lot of time waiting for when it was her turn for judging, we wandered around the fair grounds watching the eclipse*, watching people watch the eclipse* and watching for other effects of the eclipse like these crescent shadows from a tree, taken right at mid-eclipse.

*We had taken our own eclipse glasses but thankfully groups like the Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas were giving them away for free so lots of people at the fair that day were able to enjoy the eclipse safely
