When I was returning home from Portland, heading west, at about 6:30 this evening I could see what seemed to be a slightly visible cloud formation streaming out above the mountains in the west, from the same area that this photo I was taken. I am not clear about what is causing it, but it became quite visible in the waning light of the sunset.
