The Alpha Monocerotids meteor shower was not all it was hyped up to be. At least not in Saskatchewan. However, I managed to catch a meteor, sneaking into a frame of the pictures I took. It was a good one too. Orion can be seen rising above the house with the Hyades above that, and the Pleiades at the top. There is also a small star cluster just below the meteor on the left, which I believe is M50, an open star cluster. It was a fairly decent night, for November at least. The wind picked up but it was still better than what we could have had. This is a new favourite spot for us to go shooting at, not too far east of Saskatoon. We were fortunate to have some auroras make an appearance too.
