Saturn at opposition, was as big as it gets. During the still of the night, just before twilight and dawn, I caught a still photo on a mobile telephone camera, shooting through a basic refractor telescope. Even with this "poor man's deep sky" set up, the Lo ISO, Lo brightness setting captured the beauty of Saturn's elliptical, rakish form. Lovely to behold! See it for yourselves!

Thanks for your fine, much appreciated efforts at EarthSky.org!

Lo ISO (200), Lo brightness photo of Saturn at Opposition, using a Samsung Galaxy J6 mobile camera, mounted on a Solomark dilating eyepiece mount, through a basic refractor telescope. Single, raw image, taken with careful timing and stillness.

(Also good to know: Using the "continuous photos" option on the Galaxy J6 camera will conveniently get you many single frame photos with just one click, but you can't control the ISO value unless you are in the "Pro", single photo mode. Good luck!)
