This is a young Amanita mushroom of the bright orange red color, quite attractive. But the genus Amanita are known to be toxic or poisonous, so best to leave them be. Ingestion of the mushroom can cause poisoning, especially in children and those seeking its hallucinogenic effects.
The ground cover with small red berries around the young Amanita are false lily of the valley which are native to the Pacific Northwest.
