Every day, first in the morning, right after sunrise, and then in the evening, before sunset — starlings, whether in small flocks or on their own, gather for a "meeting" on the tree outside my window.
This morning, about 10–15 minutes after sunrise, the sun broke through a gap in the clouds and illuminated the tree and the birds; the foliage suddenly blazed with fire, even though, under different lighting, leaves had no signs of autumn hues at all. The miracle was short-lived — it lasted only a few minutes.
