Moon Enters Pleiades
On 10/27/2026 09:58 pm by Mandy Daniels | Website | Derbyshire, UK
The Moon crossed the Pleiades. The photographs for this image were acquired a short while before the Moon reached the cluster. Correct exposure for the Moon and stars differs by a factor of about 250, so two images were required: one to capture the stars and another to show the surface detail on the Moon. There are many stars in the image and it may be necessary to open the full size image in another tab and zoom in to see them.
