Cloud Iridescence
On 10/17/2026 09:25 am by Sheryl R Garrison | Website | Waterton Lakes National Park, AB, Canada
Cloudwatching in the mountains offers an endless variety of cloud formations, partly because of how mountains shape air movement. Diffraction—light bending around the droplets—scatters light waves into a shifting palette of often pastel, but sometimes very vivid colors.
