Coming Together

Stunning launch by SpaceX for CRS-35 resupply mission to the International Space Station October 13! A time lapse image reveals the streak of launch and booster return, but the special guest is the ISS itself as it was caught passing through the sky above! Also visible is the beautiful Space Jellyfish effect caused during stage separation. In a single morning, the sky offered a remarkable perspective on the interconnectedness of human spaceflight: a rocket rising from Florida, a booster returning home, and a space station racing overhead, all illuminated by the same Sun, even as we stood beneath a darkened sky.

Sony A7 IV
Laowa 10mm lens

30 second exposures
Processed and stacked together in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop
Masked out elements to retain detail of portions of stage separation, boost back burn, jellyfish clouds and other details I was trying to retain that would otherwise be lost in stacking.
