The Jumper.

I found this black Jumping Spider on a Poinsettia plant I was preparing for Christmas Bloom. There are over 7000 species of jumpers. The very dark shape caught my eye first followed by the brilliant flash of blue from the mouth parts which are partially green in this photo. These critters have eight eyes providing them with great vision and hunting capabilities. It was very shy in nature, and was very reluctant to be photographed.
