A small hoverfly (*Eristalis arbustorum*) perched at the tip of one of the few plants that haven't dried up after a long, hot summer. It is difficult to capture this type of photograph in agricultural and livestock-farming areas; one must instead turn to the land associated with various infrastructure networks—such as roads, canals, and railways—to find such subjects. These areas require environmental protection so that a multitude of animals—not just arthropods—can survive.

un pequeño sírfido (Eristalis arbustorum) en el extremo de una de las pocas plantas que no se han secado después de un largo y caluroso verano. Es difícil hacer este tipo de fotografías en zonas agrícolas y ganaderas, y hay que recurrir a los terrenos pertenecientes a las distintas infraestructuras (carreteras, canales, ferrocarriles...) para poderlas conseguir, terrenos que es necesario proteger ambientalmente para que multitud de animales, no sólo artrópodos, puedan sobrevivir
