Venus after a daylight lunar occultation
On 09/14/2026 04:04 pm by Tameem Altameemi | Website | Dubai, United Arab Emirates
A waxing crescent moon and Venus photographed in daylight from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on 14 September 2026, shortly after Venus emerged from behind the moon.
From my location, Venus disappeared behind the moon’s dark limb at approximately 2:36 p.m. and began to reappear from its illuminated limb at approximately 3:57 p.m. The image was captured at 4:04 p.m. GST, around seven minutes after the reappearance.
The moon was approximately 12% illuminated, while Venus displayed a roughly 29%-illuminated crescent.
Single exposure: 1/1600 second at ISO 100.
