Crescent Venus

The planet was located with 10x50s at local noon, easy to see also with unaided vision. Venus will reach maximum brightness (-4.8) on september the 22nd, when it will exhibit a maximum surface area combination of 42" disc and 0.22 phase. Almost ten weeks after, the planet will be again at maximum brightness but receding from Earth after inferior conjunction.
