After a summer of just plain uncooperative weather and smoke haze, this past weekend was clear enough to go out and shoot some Milky Way core in Maryland. This is from a shoot along the beach at the Life of the Marsh Trail in Assateague Island National Seashore, Maryland. Finally, after all the smoke, clouds, and bad weather of this summer, the sky cleared up. I put this first one together as a vertical panorama, blending separate foreground and sky exposures to capture more of the Milky Way core stretching overhead with a beautiful layer of green airglow along the horizon.
