28/08/2026 Deep Partial Lunar Eclipse

Was faced with significant differences in brightness during the eclipse: while one part of the Moon remained relatively bright, another was deeply immersed in the Earth’s shadow. My approach was therefore to preserve as much information as possible, both in the brighter areas and in the regions where the Moon almost disappeared into the shadow.

In the areas most affected by the eclipse, the Moon takes on reddish and orange hues, resulting from a phenomenon similar to the one that produces the colors of our sunrises and sunsets:

We’re not just seeing a red Moon; we’re actually seeing sunlight that passed through Earth’s atmosphere before reaching the lunar surface. Each phenomenon is different from the last and requires its own approach, and it’s precisely that challenge of finding a new way to interpret it that continues to excite me.
