Andy Dungan 8/18/26 Iris Neb Nebula in Cepheus, 1300ly

The exciting part of this picture is it is the first one taken with my new Askar 120APO that has a focal length of 840mm as well as a 120mm objective lens, much bigger than my Askar V at 80mm.
And the Iris Nebula is always fun because the primary color is the beautiful blue like Pleiades plus lots of dust. When you see very few stars that is because the dust is so thick you cannot see the stars through the “dark” nebulae. I really was fortunate as last night was the first night in weeks with no clouds so I got to give my telescope 8 hours of work!

Because of the nature of the Iris Nebula it makes no sense to take SHO pics. It is basically dust and this beautiful blue (much like Pleiades). So, simply constructing a RGB from mono data is the procedure and then processing with PI.
