Blue Whale Skelton

The Hatfield Marine Science Center has a newly installed blue whale skeleton. It washed up in the southern Oregon coast in 2015 and was brought to Newport where it was submerged in the bay to let nature clean it. It was assembled in Alberta, Canada and then returned to be installed at the marine center. The last known blue whale to wash up in Oregon was documented by Lewis & Clark.
