Green Darner Dragonflies
On 06/25/2026 12:43 pm by Lorraine Boyd | Halfmoon, New York
It was interesting watching a pair of Common Green Darner Dragonflies shortly after they mated. The position they were in, after mating, is called the "Tandem" Guard. Staying attached while the female dips her tail in the water to lay her eggs, the male holds onto her to "mate guard", preventing rival males from interrupting.
