An X-flare is likely on June 22-23!

This morning, we see that new sunspot 4473 has a 'beta-gamma' magnetic field that harbors energy for strong M-class solar flares.

Spaceweather.com Reports: That the new sunspot (4473), that has just arrived from the far side of the sun, is crackling with solar flares. The strongest so far almost crossed the threshold into category X:
This M7 flare on June 21st caused a brief shortwave radio blackout over the western USA. Ham radio operators may have noticed loss of signal at frequencies below 20 MHz around 1915 UTC.
Flares from this sunspot have been increasingly intense over the past 48 hours. If current trends continue, an X-flare is likely on June 22-23.

103mm Jaegers refractor, Baader Planetarium safety prism, using neutral density and a solar continuum filter, Losmandy GM-8 mount. Cannon 80D camera. 650 FL 12.5 mm eyepiece. I am proud of this dedicated solar telescope as I made it myself around a used Jaegers objective lens, bought on e-bay that had damaged coatings. A Moon Lite focuser, a Baader Planetarium Herschel Wedge. It has become my favorite telescope for sunspots!
