Rainbow at Sunset

The vast, high-alpine Wet Mountain Valley is known for its ability to create its own, often quite dramatic weather systems that can develop at any time, and deliver powerful weather events in mere minutes. But last evening was all about showing off the beauty this unique and often unpredictable valley - bordering the impressive peaks of the Southern Rockies - is also capable of. A thunderstorm at sunset time morphed into a giant rainbow near the foothills, which seemed to last forever!
