My close-up image of the Lagoon Nebula (M8), captured from the United Arab Emirates.
Located about 4,000 light-years away in the constellation Sagittarius, the Lagoon Nebula is one of the Milky Way’s most active star-forming regions. This detailed view reveals intricate structures of glowing hydrogen gas, dark dust lanes, and cavities sculpted by the intense radiation and stellar winds of young massive stars embedded within the nebula.
The image combines 240 narrowband exposures captured through Hα, OIII, and SII filters, with a total integration time of 12 hours.
