A Beautiful Night of Planets and the Moon
On 06/17/2026 08:00 pm by Amr Elsayed | Website | Cairo, Egypt
The thin crescent moon sits between the planets Venus above and Jupiter below it, in a beautiful scene I captured moments ago.
Venus is the brightest object in the sky; in ancient times, it was called the 'Morning Star' and the 'Evening Star' because it always appears after sunset or before sunrise with great brilliance. Below it is another point for the planet Jupiter, the giant of our solar system and the protective shield that guards Earth from giant asteroids.
This beautiful scene is visible today. In the coming days, the moon will move away from the two planets, but they will remain close to each other in the night sky.
