The June 2026 Venus-Jupiter conjunction sequence over Sicily

On 06/09/2026 09:00 pm by GIUSEPPE Pappa | Pedara,Sicily,Italy

This composite image captures the spectacular planetary conjunction of Venus and Jupiter between June 7 and June 11, 2026. Photographed from Pedara, Sicily, Italy, the sequence tracks Jupiter's swift orbital path relative to a central, brilliant Venus, showcasing their changing separation over five consecutive evenings. The closest approach occurred on the evening of June 9, reaching a minimum apparent distance of 1° 36'. Each of the five daily frames was captured shortly after sunset using a Canon EOS 760D paired with a 300mm telephoto lens, utilizing a 1-second exposure to balance both bright planets against the deepening twilight. Reciprocal angular distances are precisely annotated to illustrate the 3D geometry of the solar system in motion.
