Southern Cross and Eta Carinae Nebula as Viewed from The Bush - Australia
On 06/10/2026 08:33 pm by Thomas Thrasher | Mataranka, North Territory, Australia
Always amazed at the incredible number of distance starlight a camera can capture under clear skies in an ultra low light pollution area. Thought EarthSky readers would like to see the night sky full of stars from a Southern Hemisphere point of view. Especially the famous Southern Cross and "close-by" Eta Carinae Nebula, Southern Pleiades, NGC 3532 (Wishing Well Cluster), NGC 3114 open cluster, Lamba Centauri Cluster to list a few "neighbors".
Nikon D700 using NIKKOR 85mm 1:1.4G mounted on Manfrotto 322RC2 tripod
