Jupiter and Venus head for the big conjunction
On 06/05/2026 09:20 pm by Catherine Hyde | Website | Cambria, California, USA.
Jupiter and Venus hovering over the trees last night, headed for the big conjunction. This was taken with my smallest telescope, my little RedCat 51. If you can get in close enough, you can see three of Jupiter's moons.
Williams Optics RedCat 51, Nikon D810A camera, Astro-Physics Mach 2 tracking mount.
I took 25 of these at 3 seconds and 25 of them at 5 seconds. I stacked them separately according to exposure and then combined the two. I used Star Terminator to remove the tree because, of course, it got quite blurry. Then I took a single image of the tree to add back in.
