Venus and Jupiter in conjunction

The real stars of the night sky on these June evenings are Venus and Jupiter, visible in the twilight.

On 8-9 June, they will be at their closest apparent distance, but the spectacle is guaranteed in the days leading up to and following this date as well.

The view is further enhanced by Mercury, which, whilst not reaching them, will come close enough to join the scene.

And finally, in the middle of the month, rounding off the spectacle will be the slender crescent of the Moon, the real one.
