The Prairie Rattlesnake is listed as a Species of Special Concern by the Species at Risk Act due to loss of habitat. I shared a moment with this one as he warmed himself on a gravel pathway before sliding away into the grass. I've come to realize they're shy by nature and just like to have their own space. I can relate. I'm that kind of photographer.
