On 04/25/2026 09:43 pm by Roberto Ortu | Website | Cabras, Sardinia, Italy

This is a photo showing the Montes Apenninus range, which are located in the northern hemisphere of the Moon and form the southeastern edge of Mare Imbrium.
The mountain range is about 600 km long and the highest peak is Mount Huygens at 5500 metres. On the western edge of the Apennine Mountains we can see the crater Eratosthenes, which has a diameter of almost 60 km, further north we can see Archimedes, a large crater with a diameter of 83 km, also located in the Mare Imbrium.
