Juvenile Brown Pelican
On 04/13/2026 01:57 pm by Cecille Kennedy | Pirate Cove, Oregon
A brown pelican on the craggy rocks by the ocean is about to take off. He is a juvenile as you can see his neck is still dark not yet white and the top of his head is also dark not yet yellow. They're usually in groups and I watched him for a while wondering why he was by himself. Shortly after I took this photo he flew away to join the other pelicans on the other side of the protruding rocks.
