Comparison photos of the Moon: At right, a recent photo of the Moon taken on
April 4, 2026 by the Artemis II crew on their journey to the Moon.
We have rotated the original @NASA photo (@NasaArtemis) to 180 degrees to position the Moons' South Pole at the bottom, similar to the photo of the Moon at left, taken on April 3, 2026 from Earth (Alexander Krivenyshev).
The right Moon photo reveals the Orientale Basin on the left edge of the lunar disk. This is first time in human history the entire Orientale Basin can be completely visualized.
