Venus and Jupiter

My husband, who shares my passion for stargazing and astronomy, built us an all-sky camera when we moved to the countryside in 2024. It’s become my favorite toy. It’s fun to watch the stars and constellations when it’s clear. The all-sky camera has also captured meteors, auroras, a rocket fuel dump, and even documents the changing positions of planets, known as wanderers, over time. I am looking forward to the upcoming pairing of Venus and Jupiter in June. So I’ve been patiently waiting for Venus to rise above the evening twilight and be visible on our all-sky camera. Last night, the weather was clear, and Venus was visible near the horizon. Venus and Jupiter were 76 degrees apart at that time. I hope to catch them occasionally as they gradually move toward each other over the next few months. On June 7 and 8, they’ll be approximately three times the width of a full moon apart. Watch for future updates when I get some more shots of them.
