Sunrise March 20th, day of the Spring Equinox

In the Northern Hemisphere, the official first day of spring is marked by the spring equinox that happened on March 20th at 10:46 am, also known as the “First Point of Aries” This is the astronomical beginning of the spring season, and occurs when the sun crosses the celestial equator going south to north. This means that the Northern and Southern Hemispheres receive roughly equal amounts of sunlight.
