As seen to me just now, here are only two numbered sunspots on the solar disk this morning. The largest and most active sunspot is Sunspot AR4392 that has a 'beta-gamma' magnetic field poses a continued threat for M-class solar flares
Today is the first day of northern Spring, and it could begin with an outburst of auroras. NOAA forecasters say there is a chance of G2-class geomagnetic storms on March 20-21 when one or more CMEs are expected to hit Earth. Their impact could be amplified by the Russell-McPherron effect, which boosts geomagnetic storms around the equinox. (Spaceweather.com)
