Pelican Regatta

The white pelicans are wintering at Lake Morton, but will be leaving soon. They fly in March and April to Canada and British Columbia to nest, and come back to the lake come next winter. In the image on the left there are 2 sub-adult or juveniles as evidenced by brownish specks on their feathers.
